The first Club cruise was last weekend with a mini cruise to Burnham and a meal in the Swallowtail Restaurant. 4 yachts left the moorings for a day sail on the river; the sun was out and just the right amount of wind to get them down to Burnham Marina.
On mooring up Off Piste became the fleet’s party boat with hosts Lynette & Patrick. Cans started to click and wine bottles popped. Later on Tim RC, Barbara and Brian turned up by car filling the numbers so that in the end Club members were sitting on Off Piste’s aft deck (Patrick you need a bigger boat).
Just before we set off to Swallowtail Restaurant two more club members turned up – Lee (Obsession) and Teri (Mahala) after they had changed their minds and swapped a night on board their boats with a paper back book and a mug of Horlicks for a meal and party with Club members!
At 20:00 Hrs we took the party up to The Swallowtail and 10 club members sat down to a very enjoyable evening. After the difficulties booking this event I must say the meal and service were good. Next morning we enjoyed a walk in the fresh air to Creeksea for a full cooked breakfast then a gentle sail back to the moorings. From all feedback Club members had a fantastic weekend. Hope to see more of you on the next one.
